RE: Question on Tow Dolly use

I tow a 2007 Nissan Sentra.
My owners manual states for towing the Nissan Sentra with CVT transmission:
1. Do not lock the Steering Wheel.
2. Secure the steering wheel. I use my seat belt looped through the Steering wheel without locking it.
3. Place the gear shift in Neutral. I have a gear shift release next the the gear shift, which I use the key to move the gear shift to neutral.
I have towed the Nissan 25,000+ miles on a Master Tow Dolly without any problems.
Good Luck

RE: Garmin GPS

I got my Garmin summer 2007.
I had it registered, went to MyGarmin,,,,and there was a notice for me to download the 2009 maps. The price was right,,,FREE.
Downloaded the 2009 maps and continues to work well for me.
Garmin actually replaced my first unit under warranty. They have been an excellent company for me to work with.
I haven't found anything in this life perfect yet,,,,but traveling a lot, the GPS sure beats the old fashioned way.

RE: National Interstate Glass Claim - Toad

Step #2
Received a call from NI at 7:30 a.m.
They took the information, provided claim number, adjuster's name and that I will be contacted by the adjuster, etc.
I was told I can take the car anywhere for repair.

National Interstate Glass Claim - Toad

This will be my first claim with NI.
I contacted NI by telephone and received a recording to leave info for next day call back.
Not an emergency, so no problem.
Has anyone had any experience with a windshield glass claim with NI?
We are currently in Texas. AGAIN!
In 2000 and again in 2006 while insured under progressive, I had a MH windshield replacement claim on each occasion. Again while in Texas.
I reached a live person each time. On the 2000 claim, a mobile RV service replaced the windshield at our site. It was a smaller MH on a ChevVan chassis at the time.
The 2006 claim was handled by progressive and required the shipment of a replacement windshield by Duncan Glass and was repaired at Ancira in Boerne.
Both progessive glass claims went extremely well, and completed in a timely manner.
What can I expect from NI?
I will continue to post my progress with NI.

RE: GPS Map Updates via WIFI??? Tom Tom - Garmin

I just updated myb Garmin 750 using RV Park wifi from 2008 maps to 2009 maps.
More than 2 hour process.
Not a problem. Works like a charm.
I also have ATT air card, but chose to use wifi from the park, because it has been flawless and faster than the aircard.

RE: Finding decent Motor Home Service

Try This.
I use it before I go anywhere. If no one on the list, I then go to the manufacturer website of the item I need serviced, etc. Have had good luck with this process.
Also, I do a search on the forums for any place I consider. Be surprised what you sometimes find about others experiences.

Good Luck.

RE: front tv removal????

tonkatoys;
It was a gray panasonic, tapered in the back. I was surprised how easy it was to remove. My concern in removing it was whether I could handle it without any help. Went slow and all went well.
Did it myself, and I am vertically challenged.
If it is the same set, you will be surprised how easy it is to handle.
Good Luck.

RE: front tv removal????

I recently removed a 27" Panasonic without any problem. Fit through the 24" doorway.
Also removed a sleeper sofa, after removing back and sides and it fit through the doorway also.
Good Luck.

RE: Portable 50 Amp Surge Guard

We have had 8 Rv's in 32 years, never had an electrical problem anywhere in the USA.
However, that said, I still wanted some protection, but did not want to spend a fortune for it.
I was thinking safe electric, and here is what I use and have used for the past 2.2 years:
Surge Protector
The above electrical prophalactic has worked well so far, at an acceptable cost.
Additionally, I use individual surge protectors for additional electronics that I want to protect IF I do have an electrical problem.
With a 32 year gamble, and RV history, considering our experience, I'm confident that we are adequately protected. Could something happen, sure, but no matter what, I'm still not gettn' outta this world alive.
Kinda like one plane crash, scares the hell outta some folks from flying. How many land and take off safely.
So many scare tactics out there for everything, we can go nuts trying to protect ourselves from everything.
I also use an adequate water pressure regulator, and water filtering system.
Everyone has their own idea as to how much protection they want and/or need.
This is just my humble opinion, but like all of them, it's just one. And we know how oderous any of them can be.;)
Good Luck, and don't forget to enjoy the ride.
What me worry!, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow!

RE: Would you? - do you? - why?

Put the awning up, take a bottle of wine out of the outside fridge, put in JM's
TEXAS, sit back and enjoy LIFE!
I heard somewhere that it's about FREEEEEEDOMMMMMMMM!
As soon as the 15" goes, it will be replaced with a 24" HDTV, 1080P, and a Blu-Ray. I need a surround sound headset (tongue in cheek). = HEAVEN!
The empty bottle of wine will be replaced also!
I live in my outside Den, when not rolling down the road. DW does not care for movies where they kill them all, although she did like Flags of our Fathers in Blu-Ray.
What a life! I just don't understand why they only have a 42", when they make a 60".
Size does Matter! Enjoy

RE: Sofa question

We removed our sofa and replaced it with two leather lazyboy rocker recliners, and not looking back.
The comfort alone made it worthwhile.
After 8 RV's over the years, never had one with a comfortable couch.

RE: Blue Ray ?

I installed a 37" Toshiba HDTV 1080P
Sony, BluRay
Sony Surround Sound, in the MH.
Don't know if I could tell if there was a difference between the 720 and 1080, but BluRay is 1080P also.
All I know is it sure is sweet, DW will play Hades, getting me back to the movie theater. For the price of tickets, etc., I'll go buy the BluRay Disc.
